The website, microsites, and applications (“Services”) and the content and material incorporated in or made available through the Services (the “Content”) are protected by intellectual property rights, including copyright rights, which are owned and controlled by the American College of Chest Physicians (“the organization”) or the party credited as the Content provider. Users shall abide by all copyright notices and other restrictions contained in any material accessed through the Services. No Content from the Services may be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any way, without prior written permission from the copyright holder (the organization). Users may download one copy of the Content on any single computer (or other electronic device) for personal, noncommercial use, and may print one hard copy of the Content for personal, noncommercial use, provided all copyright and other proprietary notices remain intact. Modification of the Content or use of the Content for any purpose other than personal, noncommercial use without prior written permission from the copyright holder (the organization) is a violation of copyright law. The use of any such Content on any other website or networked computer environment is prohibited.
Account Sharing. Personal account information, including username and password details used to access Services are to remain strictly confidential. Users are individually responsible for the security of this information and must not permit any other person or entity its use. Violation of this may result in suspension or termination of Services.
InterLibrary Loans. Institutional subscribers may fulfill interlibrary loan requests from other institutions in the same country via fax or paper document delivery under National Commission on New Technological Uses (CONTU) of Copyright Works guidelines. Redistribution of Journal content to non-authorized users in electronic or digital format is prohibited without prior publisher approval.

Under no circumstances whatsoever, including negligence, and regardless of legal theory, shall the organization, any of its officers, regents, executive committee members, members, related entities, employees, representatives, other agents, or anyone else involved in creating or maintaining the Services, be liable for any damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL or CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, or LOST PROFITS) that result from any of the following: (i) use or inability to use the Services and/or any other websites that are linked to the Services, (ii) reliance on any methods, products, recommendations, instructions, ideas, or other information obtained from the Services and/or any other websites that are referenced or linked to the Services, or (iii) mistakes, omissions, interruptions, deletion of files, viruses, errors, defects, or any performance failure , communications failure, theft, destruction, or unauthorized access to the Services or contamination of your computer system or information. User-Generated Content. The following provisions apply to user-generated content submitted to CHEST Publications in connection with the Services. By submitting content users agree to the following provisions, which may be amended:
- You are fully responsible for the content that you submit. Content that is defamatory, obscene, or abusive in nature; violates or infringes upon the proprietary, publicity, or privacy rights of any third party; or is otherwise inappropriate will not be submitted. You agree not to submit any personal information of another individual (including, without limitation, Protected Health Information). You agree to submit content for non-commercial purposes only. You will indemnify the organization from all claims or demands made by any third party due to or arising out of the content you submit. You understand and agree that the organization is not responsible for content submitted by third parties.
- The editors of CHEST Publications have the right to reject, edit, remove, or otherwise alter any content submitted for any reason. The organization reserves the right to revoke a user’s privilege to submit content.
- By submitting content, you grant to the organization a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide license to use, reproduce, sublicense, modify, publicly perform, display, translate, create derivative works from, and distribute that material, in whole or in part, and incorporate it into other ACCP publications and services, in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed. You authorize the organization to publish your name and location (city, state and/or country) in connection with any use of your submission and in identifying yourself and location, you represent that you have done so accurately. Once your submission is posted, you will not have the right to have it removed or edited.
